I’ve recently bought this new facial serum, which is 100% pure natural hyaluronic acid. The writing on the back says “Reconstructing – tissue firming. It counteracts oxidative stress. Supermoisturizing”. This serum is supposed to help hydrate the skin, prevent and reduce the appearance of fine lines and increase the retention of water in the skin. I only apply a very small quantity, right after cleansing the face, and before applying my regular night/day cream. Starting from the area around the eyes and mouth and forehead, I then apply then spread it all over the face. I apply a very thin layer, so just a drop is enough to cover my whole face. The product comes out in a gel-like substance, and it’s liquid texture allows to easily spread it to the treated area. It tends to dry very quickly, leaving the skin incredibly hydrated. The serum is supposed to penetrate the layers of skin which are not reached by regular face creams, this is why it should be integrated in the daily skin-care routine.
What is Hyaluronic Acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a substance found in the connective tissues of both animals and humans, which helps the strength and flexibility of the cartilage in the joints. It also increases the production of synovial fluid, that acts as a lubricant for the joints.
Hyaluronic Acid and its benefits for the skin
The vegetable hyaluronic acid is extracted by a mushroom called “Tremella fuciformis sporocarp”, found in the mountains of Fujian in China and Taiwan.
It is frequently used in cosmetic surgery, to help rejuvenate the appearance of the skin, but as it is absorbed by the body, its effects arent’s permanent. Thanks to its molecular structure, this substance locks moisture, and hydrates the skin, giving it elasticity. Being a natural antioxidant, is also fights free radicals, preventing skin aging.
It is also often used to help reduce the appearance of scars, both old and new.
I would definitely say that this vegetable hyaluronic serum is a good way to complete your daily skin-care routine!
